Argonaut is seeking an experienced Associate Director of Programming. This is an exceptional opportunity to work in a creative environment in one of the fastest growing education sectors. As the Associate Director of Programming, you will be responsible for leading the programming team in implementation of Argonaut’s programming at Davis Aerospace and Maritime High School (Davis). In collaboration with Davis leadership, you will design and implement recruitment and alumni engagement strategies, support of project-based learning, and college & career advising. This position is full-time, exempt, and reports to the Chief Operating Officer.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as the main point of contact between Argonaut, Davis A&M administrators and teaching staff to unify programming and enhance relationships.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Argonaut programming team and activities at Davis A&M.
- Responsible for the supervision of the program manager, career-based learning coordinator, and aviation instructor.
- Work closely with program staff, Davis A&M administrators and teachers to implement and coordinate an integrated project-based curriculum leveraging industry and community partnerships in collaboration with Argonaut’s Senior Director of Partnerships & Community Engagement.
- Work closely with Davis A&M and the programming team to support a positive school culture built on PBIS and restorative practices.
- Oversee and support coordination of various learning experiences for teachers, students, and families, in partnership with strategic community partners.
- Work closely with the curriculum and instruction specialist at Davis A&M on the development and implementation of a student recruitment plan for Davis Aerospace and Maritime High School.
- Responsible for development and implementation working closely with the Davis A&M guidance counselor of an alumni program that engages graduates of Davis A&M.
- Develops and oversees a college/career advising system that supports the transition beyond high school and further strengthens alumni engagement.
- Responsible for data distribution and collection, as well as leveraging findings to improve and strengthen current programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field, preference for a master’s degree or higher.
- Three (3) plus years of experience supervising staff.
- Demonstrated progressive leadership experience over five (5) or more years.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to conduct outreach, group facilitation, and presentations.
- Strong self-initiative and self-management, plus ability to work in a team setting and solo.
- Ability to organize teams, manage multiple projects, and ensure accountability of the full department team.
- Ability to coordinate, maintain records, and be proactive with all position duties.
- Excellent critical thinking, interpersonal and dispute resolution skills
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks, and high attention to detail.
- Knowledge of aerospace and maritime education is not a requirement, but a plus.
- Occasional weekend, holiday, and evening hours may be required.
- Sense of humor, flexibility, and creative “think outside the box” solution-based mindset.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to utilize a phone, computer and screen, and other office equipment.
- Must be able to occasionally lift 50 pounds.
- This position requires working indoors and outdoors, in various weather conditions.
- Position may require prolonged periods of sitting, standing, stooping, and bending.
